CHOTA LATEST! PLEASE READ!
Due to ‘gremlins’ getting into the works I have had to do some tedious editing of the CHOTA table of entries. It’s my own fault – trying to be helpful again 😉 . I tried to make the table compatible with Mobile phones (I use mine A LOT!). However, the software warned me of ‘unexpected consequences should ‘….’ be the case… it turns out – it was! Lots of random ‘?’ in the text! So, after an hour or so of tedious editing (including some deep down HTML stuff 🙁 ) I have cleaned up the Table and entered the last few entries. It is no longer compatible with mobile phones… 🙁 The software I use currently just can’t handle it.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR ENTRY and if it’s missing or incorrect then do get in touch via ‘wacralweb@gmx.com’. That’s important. Thanks in anticipation.
The really great news is that we have 15 NEW entries this year and a total of 38. John G3XYF will probably have better historic statistics than I but having done this for a few years I can tell you, that’s ‘a lot’… (I’m really good at giving vague statistics… reminds me of the time when I was a treasurer and I was asked how much was in our account – after a few moments I said, ‘Not a lot…’ OK, it wasn’t funny then either… but a lot of people still remember it! )
The furthest entry (from the UK) is in the Czech Republic and I wish Dana of ?Radio club OK1KYU all the very best for the day! Welcome Dana!
I hope all of you have a great day on Saturday 14th September, with good propagation. I hope to be an SWL this year as I still haven’t got my act together after moving house last year. If you live in a Welsh valley it can be difficult ‘getting out’ on the air but the location is wonderful in lots of other ways! Any suggestions as to how to change the laws of Physics will be gratefully received 😉 .
